Man arrested for stealing in church
Ibadan - An Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan on Wednesday granted bail to a 22-year-old man, Genesis Rindap, for alleged breaking into a Church.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr A. A. Adebisi, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
Adebisi adjourned the case till Aug.13, for hearing.
Rindap, who was arraigned on a two-count charge of breaking and stealing, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Prosecutor, ASP Sunday Ogunremi, had told the court that the accused committed the offences at Light House International Christian Church, Samonda, Ibadan, on July 13, at 6 a.m.
Ogunremi said that the accused stole a multiple USB charger, four flash drives and a pair of baby shoes.
He said the accused also stole two hundred pounds in cash and a Stanbic IBTC Bank ATM card, all belonging to the church.
The prosecutor further told the court that the accused also stole two pairs of shirt, ties, seven wrist watches, a bottle of Vitamin C tablets and a Lux Soap.
The offences, Ogunremi said, contravened Sections 390 (9) and 415 of the Criminal Code Cap 38! Vol II, Law of Oyo State Nigeria 2000.
